DeLonghi ESAM6600 Brew Station Digital Super-Automatic Espresso Machine Review

I researched fully automatic espresso machines for over 6 months, always coming back to the Delonghi products. I read the good, the bad and the ugly of all of them, watched videos ect.... As we continued to drain our bank account with "take out, expensive, lattes and cappucino's" we bit the bullet and purchased the Delonghi Gran Dama. WOW is all I can say... We use it every day. Programmed to come on at a certain time to heat up, so when I come down I press a button and make the perfect cup of coffee, latte, cappucino whatever I'm in the mood for and in my own home. It's easy to use, yes a little loud BUT my 2year old and 7 year old do not even wake up and their rooms are above the kitchen. The cleaning and maintenance is no big deal and if your spending this much on any product I hope you want to maintain and take care of it as some people do their expensive cars....The machine tells you everything to do and has very clear directions that yes you must read before you use it only because it will only ensure you set it up correctly and get your perfect cup... I read the bad reviews complaints and I just don't have any of the problems they have... maybe they are from the competition worried about business)... If you are a coffee freak like I am or just want a "good cup of joe" this is for you...ENJOY

DeLonghi EN720.M Automatic Coffee Machine with Capsule System, Cappuccino, Latte and Espresso Review

We purchased this machine primarily to make cappuccinos and lattes. It is easy to use and consistently makes excellent drinks. We use bottled water for all of our coffee so we have not had to descale the maker. However, the machine comes with a water-hardness tester and the machine can be adjusted based upon water hardness. We did not have to use the tester or make any adjustments.

Having to order the coffee pods directly from Nespresso may be a problem for some users. We order all my coffee online so we do not find ordering the pods from Nespresso to be particularly inconvenient. Also, we like knowing that the pods are not sitting on the shelf of a retailer for months.

If you are looking for a machine to make espressos, cappuccinos and lattes, you will love this machine. We have not been disappointed at all with this machine and would buy it again.

At the time of this review, there is only one other review of the Nespresso Lattessimo Premium. I do not necessarily disagree with some of the points that reviewer is making. For the use he or she is describing, there are better choices (Kruig makes an excellent single cup coffee maker). In using another espresso machine, we found that low fat milk makes better foam. We also prefer using 0% or 2% milk, so that is not an issue for us.

Cuisinart CHW-12 Black/Stainless Coffeemaker Plus Hot Water System 12-Cup Programmable Review

I actually went online looking for a new tea kettle, and found this 2 in 1 coffee maker. Not only does it make great coffee, but I LOVE the hot water dispenser. The kids can use it for making hot oatmeal or hot cocoa, and I can use it for hot tea and lemon water after my morning cup of Joe. It has a light indicator that turns solid when the water is ready, and another light that tells you that it needs more water added. The whole unit fits nicely under my kitchen cabinets. I really have no complaints about it.

Melitta Brew Station Coffeemaker 12-Cup Programmable Review

I bought this pot a month ago to replace a leaking 14 year old Braun. Unlike the Cuisinart, Krups, DiLongi and at least one other brand I've bought and returned, this one does those things a good coffee maker should do: It makes good coffee, it doesn't leak, the carafe has yet to drip one drop (why is this so hard?), it is easy to use (I disagree with another reviewer that the settings are hard to read, though they could be better), the reservoir is easy to fill, and the brew-pause feature doesn't drip and it's easy to re-insert the carafe. I'd give it 5 stars but (a) I wish you could control the length of time the hot-plate stays hot, (b) the machine is black and the coffee is black so it's hard to see with a glance how much coffee is left in the pot, and (c) it would be nice if, when changing the automatic start time, you could go backwards as well as forward, rather than cycling though a lot of hours or minutes. These three shortcomings are MINOR in light of all the really important things it does right. I hope is lasts as long as my Braun.

Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Station Coffeemaker 12-Cup Programmable Review

I was looking for a replacement coffee maker after my Kerig started "acting up". I am very happy with this my choice of Cuisinart. The only draw back is that the water reservior is hard to read but I got around that by messuring the water before pouring it in. It was easy to program the time and the auto brew timer. It also fits in nicely with our other stainless steal applicances

Neapolitan coffee maker, and American Espresso

There are many ways to brew coffee:
The Neapolitan coffee is a coffee mocha (Cuccumella) that is used in Naples for the preparation of coffee at home. Once properly set the coffee and stuck the elements, the machine should be set on fire when the coffee is ready you must be ready to twist the particular machine to get it out.

The coffee is traditionally despised by the Italians, although no longer perceives the damage of previous years, also thanks to chains like Starbucks, that have convinced many people that sipping a cup of coffee can be a good pleasure. The American coffee is often accompanied by false comparisons with our espresso: it is a different drink, to sip slowly, and not for a quick energy recharge. To achieve it you can buy special machines for this type of coffee or use the soluble, such as Nescafe.

The espresso coffee is definitely the most loved by people at home can be done with the classic mocha, or with electric espresso machines, similar to those of bars, including the supermarkets are flooded. Do not miss the fashion in recent years of pods or capsules, to get home a creamy coffee like the bar.

Chocolate cake with coffee cream

The chocolate cake with coffee cream is a dessert consisting of a really good basic chocolate filled with coffee cream, covered with chocolate icing decorated with lots of dark chocolate curls. Prepare this cake is very simple, we see in detail the recipe and preparation:

Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler, remove from heat, add the cream and stir until the mixture is homogeneous. Pour into a buttered and floured, bake at 185 ° about 35-40 minutes. After cooking, baking and allow to cool.

For the cream: 1 quart of milk, 250 grams of sugar, 5 eggs, 3 egg yolks, 100 grams of flour, 1 sachet of vanilla, 2 cups of strong coffee, 1 tablespoon of instant coffee.

Slowly bring milk to a boil combining the vanilla. Mix in a bowl the eggs, sugar and flour, help with an electric mixer. Combine the milk made flush with stirring. Put everything on the stove over low heat, stirring constantly to thicken. Once cooked, transfer the mixture into a baking dish and cover in contact with the film. Allow to cool.

Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler.

Finish

Divide the base of the cake horizontally, fill with coffee cream. Cover the cake with the melted chocolate with the help of a spatula. Decorate the cake with about 150-200 grams of chocolate curls.

DeLonghi ESAM5500M Digital Super Automatic Espresso Machine Review

I love this machine! I have been making espresso and milk drinks non-stop since I got it and everything works great. I was a little leery at first not having a "steam spout", but the milk frother works great. In addition to selecting the kind of milk drink you want, the frother has several settings. The owner's manual was very helpful. With the various settings I have had no problems getting the consistency that I want.
The espresso taste is great and the machine easy to use - watch the video and read the manual! One of the best things is that there is no mess. My friend has a separate grinder and non-automatic espresso machine. There are coffee grounds everywhere and it makes an awful mess. The Delonghi makes no mess and it is easy to clean.

Some have mentioned that the coffee is not hot enough. Maybe this is an American preference. From my time in Italy I noticed that they serve espresso drinks (including milk drinks) much less hot than what we are used to here. The hotness of the coffee has not been an issue for me. I followed the instructions to make the coffee and milk hotter and if I feel the need I pop my cup in the microwave for a few seconds. One thing I do that works great is to pre-heat the cups by filling them with water and putting them in the microwave for a minute or two. But basically, I don't think espresso drinks are supposed to be as hot as an American cup of drip.

I also use purified water. I don't use distilled water - I use bottled drinking water that has some minerals in it. Tastes better.

I would definitely buy the Delonghi if I had the decision to make again.

DeLonghi EN660.R Nespresso Lattissima Single Serve Espresso Maker Review

I bought the Lattissima a few months ago and have only praise to say about it. I was very skeptical when I purchased the machine as there were several negative reviews but still felt it might be the best for what I was willing to spend. After several months of usage the machine works still excellent, the milk frosting works great and I just love the simplicity of it all. You make your Latte or Cappuccino and push a button and everything is cleaned. All other parts are dishwasher safe. No messing around- just easy! The coffee is great and Nespresso while not inexpensive has an excellent service. Every order I placed so far arrived next day or latest within 2 days regardless when I ordered (weekend, night, etc.) and I called customer service once on the weekend and they were helpful as well.

The only downsides I discovered are that my standard coffee mugs don't fit well when the milk dispenser is attached and that my coffee intake has doubled since I bought the machine. I am still asking myself why I procrastinated so long before finally buying one of these machines, yes they are not inexpensive but the quality of coffee and simplicity are priceless.

DeLonghi ECO310BK 15 Bar Pump Espresso Machine Review

I had the same leaking problem with the DeLonghi 270 that so many others seemed to have. I had it fixed, but decided to give up when the frothing nozzle melted onto the unit and could not be removed for cleaning (right after the one year warranty expired). The DeLonghi ECO 310 seems to be a much better design. It has a larger water tank, easy to remove frothing cover and nozzle, makes a large cup of espresso fairly quickly, and doesn't look chintzy. Hopefully, it's built for the long term. The only drawback I found was that there is only 3.5 inches between the cup tray and the filter holder, so most large mugs don't fit. That seems to be common with these machines, however. Also, I would like to mention that the measurements in the product description are slightly off. It is 10 3/4 inches deep x 9 3/4 inches wide x 12 3/4 inches high (to the top of the steam knob).

Saeco Coffee Maker Odea Giro Automatic Espresso Machine Review

Had it about two weeks now and it makes super espresso. I had a semi-automatic and didn't use it as much because it was a pain. Grind your own coffee, pack it and hope you get it the same quality each time. Results were not consistent. But this one is great. Load the water, beans and you are ready to go for several cups of espresso. Now when I get up in the morning or want a cup in the evening, just press one button, put a cup under the spout for the machine to clean the water from the lines, then pick your grind strength and one shot or two with the stroke of a button. Enjoy!! The frother is better than I have seen on any of the semi automatic machines. Sometimes I just cheat and heat the milk in the microwave and have a latte. It is the flavor that I love but I am a coffee lover... I would definitely buy this machine again. I am anxious to see how this one lasts but it has already saved me about $100 keeping me out of the coffee shops so I figure I will be far ahead regardless. My spouse really likes this because now he doesn't have to ask me to fix him a drink. He can just punch a button and he has his drinks ready to go. I can pull one shot right after the other. Pulling shots back to back has the same quality from first to last. This machine is really a 10 star in my book.

Krups 888-43 Caffe Centro Time 10-Cup Coffee/Pump Espresso Machine Review

I am the type of buyer who reads reviews on everything before I buy it and after reading some of the reviews on this product, I was hesitant to buy. Well, I decided to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This product has worked flawlessly every single morning for the past month. I LOVE IT. I want to marry it. No, seriously though, how anyone can not pour coffee out of the pot without spilling it all over the place, blows my mind. These must be the same people who run a car for 20,000 miles without an oil change and then write negative reviews regarding engine noise. The espresso maker works great and as for the temperature, it burns my tongue. The unit is well made and a breeze to use. The auto timer is great and easy to set up. The only thing that is true about some of these reviews is that it doesn't brew espresso and coffee simultaneously. No big deal.
Just goes to show that one needs to keep an open mind before reading online reviews.

Jura-Capresso 13299 Impressa Z6 Automatic Espresso and Coffee maker Center Review

I am giving a review of the Z5....not the Z6. I believe the insides are very similar if not identical and that most of the changes were cosmetic. I have had the Z5 for about a year and have been very pleased.

Pros:
Excellent coffee & cappuccino. You can tweak the machine twenty different ways. I think it is not as good as the best coffee joints - but it is pretty close. The convenience of waking up and hitting a button can not be overstated. You will hooked forever after a week. It has worked flawlessly since I bought it. If two people in a household go to Starbucks every day, just buy this and it will pay for itself in no time.

Cons:
The biggest con is the coffee temperature. You will see this pop up again and again in reviews. Buy yourself a very well insulated coffee cup and preheat the cup by adding hot water from the machine and letting in sit for two minutes. The cup will then be hot and won't suck out the energy from the added coffee.

All in all..when my Z5 dies I will most likely replace it with a Z6.

Mr. Coffee ECM21 4-Shot Espresso Machine and 8-Cup Coffeemaker Combo Review

I've mainly used this several times for making coffee as I'm unsure of how to make espresso (yet). I've noticed that the coffee tastes really good out of this unit, I know there's some that might say that it has a strange plastic taste to it I have not encountered that at all since owning this. Very easy to clean, very easy to get it up and running right out of the box.

I do have to say the instruction manual if you need it might seem a little ambiguous with a couple of the instructions, just takes a little bit of thinking to understand some of the operations of it. I would highly recommend that you pay special attention to the instructions on making espresso if you haven't done so before as you can quickly burn yourself if you try to clean the espresso portion of the machine immediately after making espresso. Let the espresso steam dissipate for a good while before trying to clean up on it to avoid any inadvertent steam discharges that might burn you.

Other than that, great unit I would recommend buying one if you really want the option of making espresso or coffee or both!

Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker

Review Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker

Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker

Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker Overview

Re-create the flavor of authentic Italian café drinks with the Café Roma espresso maker. Style-conscious coffee lovers will treasure its attractive, stainless-steel housing that conveniently sits on a countertop. Espresso enthusiasts will delight in the 15-bar Thermoblock pump which forces water through coffee grounds at the ideal pressure to create delicious, rich espresso shots. The machine also produces an abundance of crema--the light brown liquid that sits atop an espresso and characterizes a well-pulled shot--via its dual-wall filter system. Filters synchronize with heated and pressurized water to perfectly extract and caramelize coffee oils, resulting in a velvety, flavor-packed crema that will impress purists and novices alike.

The machine is simple-to-use, with a removable 1.3-quart water tank and an external water window that indicates when the tank is low. The tank is much larger than most consumer machines, so espresso enthusiasts can pull shot after shot without running low on water. As with any good espresso machine, the unit also includes a warming plate to prevent shots from prematurely cooling when poured into cups. Additional features include a froth enhancer for flavorful lattés and cappuccinos, and a removable drip tray and grid for easier cleanup. As a bonus, the machine also comes with a stainless-steel espresso cup set and a frothing jug.
  • Stainless-steel espresso machine with 15-bar Thermoblock pump

Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker Review

I purchased the Breville Cafe Roma Espresso machine about 5 years ago and I still enjoy the "perfect expresso" on a daily basis. I have previously owned another espresso maker that I ended up trashing cause the pump just quit after 6 months. The Breville Cafe Roma has never given me any kind of problems, even after my once and sometimes twice a day use. My only complaint would be that you cannot fit a regular size coffee cup without removing the drain tray. I got used to that inconvenience and have enjoyed delicious latte and espressos from this machine for the last 5 years.

Breville ESP6SXL Café Modena Espresso Machine Review

This is the first espresso machine I've owned. I've had it about 6 weeks, and make 3 lattes a day - heats up my almond milk in about 45 seconds. A swivel wand would be nice, but that's why others are more expensive - more features. A little difficult (okay, impossible) to see water level, not a big deal to me, I can just open the top door and see. The wand does sometimes shoot water for a few seconds, but I use the little mug saucers to catch it and it rarely causes a mess. As far as noise, I don't find it to be an issue at all, it's not very loud in my opinion. Great so far, very pleased.

Saeco Via Venezia Traditional Pump Driven Espresso Machine

Saeco Via Venezia Traditional Pump Driven Espresso Machine Overview

The drip tray is also easily removed when the tray needs to be emptied or cleaned.
  • Easy reading control lights show when the machine id "ready to brew" and "ready to steam"
  • Pressurized Portafilter: The patented filter holder ensures a great extraction of espresso by pressurizing the brewing chamber, thereby creating the perfect espresso-brewing element
  • ESE Pod Adaptor Capability: A pod adaptor and special filter basket fits into the portafilter, enabling it to handle single serve prepackaged shots (pods)

Saeco Via Venezia Traditional Pump Driven Espresso Machine Review

It would probably be prudent to offer some background information on my 'espresso credentials' prior to getting to the bulk of my review. Knowing nothing about espresso preparation, I received a steam-driven espresso machine (Mr. Coffee ECM160) as a gift about a year ago. It was a great gift that introduced me to home espresso, although even upon first use I knew that it wasn't making 'true' espresso, I just didn't yet understand the underlying mechanics behind proper espresso extraction. A little research revealed the obvious difference between steam and pump driven machines. My desire to occasionally enjoy a straight shot of crema-topped espresso, in addition to various espresso-based drinks, pushed me to begin researching pump driven machines.

I hadn't come across this machine in my research, but instead I was introduced to Saeco's Via Venezia while visiting a friend's house. Seeing an appliance like this in action, and tasting the resultant espresso, is about as good a test drive as you'll get.

The made-in-Italy Via Venezia is a single stainless-steel boiler machine, driven by a 15-bar pump and features a pressurized portafilter - which ostensibly provides extraction that is less dependent upon grind size/consistency and tamping force. From my experience, the forgiving pressurized portafiliter lives up to its billing. Some home baristas dislike that it takes the user's control out of shot characteristics - but I appreciate its ability to provide great espresso without requiring every detail to be perfect - I get rich crema on every pull. With a single boiler, brewing and frothing must be carried out independently. I'm still able to prepare drinks at a decent clip as the machine reaches optimal temperature quickly.

The machine is simple to use with indicator lights on the brew and steam selector buttons that specify when the machine is ready for each mode. The steam wand (panarello) swivels with a good range of motion to accommodate various frothing pitcher sizes - so far I've been happy with the milk frothing results and the panarello is easy to clean. I've been able to use my 20 oz frothing pitcher without any awkward clearance issues with other parts of the machine. The design is well thought out for ease of use.

Beyond the impressive espresso results, I was also immediately impressed with the Via Venezia's build quality. The entire outer case is metal, with minor plastic used for the drip tray and accessory tray. This provides a sturdy, substantial feel befitting the price tag. The generous water reservoir (68 oz) can be filled either by removing the reservoir container (by sliding out the drip tray assembly) or by flipping open an access hatch on top of the machine. Saeco also provides a ESE pod-adapter for the portafilter, which accepts espresso pods. I have yet to use this feature as I prefer to grind my beans prior to brewing, but it is nice to have the additional capability.

There are myriad choices in the semi-auto home espresso machine market. While the Via Venezia may not be the most cost competitive, its impressively sturdy build quality elevates it above plasticky machines of questionable durability. The Via Venezia is highly recommended for the budding espresso enthusiast.

KRUPS XP5220 Precise Tamp Pump Espresso Machine Review

If you have read through the earlier customer reviews, you know that the easily broken milk frother has been the reason to avoid purchasing this product. That has changed. Krups redesigned the frother and is now manufacturing it using a more durable plastic. This new frother is available on all new machines. But it is also available free to those of us who already own one of the older machines.
Call the Krups customer service line, 800-526-5377, and request the replacement frother. The person I spoke with didn't even request proof of purchase. In about ten days the new part arrived. Now I am back to making terrific espresso with this dependable entry-level machine.
