Nespresso Essenza Espresso Machine in Titan Gray/Aeroccino Plus In-Pack Review

After fighting with espresso/capp. machines and never getting it just right, I bought this machine because of a reccommendation from a family member. It is sooo easy to make a great latte. It takes only a couple minutes by pushing a couple buttons. The taste is great. A must have is the frother. Just pour your creamer or half and half to the line and then push the button. It comes out perfect.

It arrived in perfect condition and on time.

Nespresso C100T Essenza Single-Serve Automatic Espresso Machine Review

I have a number of machines including the Starbucks Sirena/Keurig and the C100T.

I purchased the Nespresso about a year ago after trying it at a local Williams and Sonoma store. It seemed a bit "fadish" at the time but it worked easily and I liked the product it produced. Now at a year of use, I think I can comment on the gizmo a bit better.

The Starbucks Sirena Machine at $400 is a dynamite machine but requires a learning curve to get the hang of. Sirena makes an awesome espresso/cappuccino but does require technique and ability to operate well. You might do well to get a training session from an experienced user.

The Nespresso machine however (C100T) works well for the absolute rookie. The quality of the drink is top notch and the foam indicates a near perfect espresso brew. Complaints about "not being hot" are ridiculous as any espresso machine that is operating correctly is within a couple degrees of any other machine. Fact is, you need to warm any espresso cup if you are wanting to keep a few scant ounces of fluid hot. A coffee mug will cool any normal espresso shot rather quickly (get some espresso cups and pre-warm them).

Noise: It sounds like a "mini Keurig" and is certainly quieter than many espresso machines. Just can not pump hot water at 19bar without some noise.

Cost wise, it is cheaper to run the Starbucks but the $400 in initial investment might just offset that a bit :) I have found the Nespresso to be easy to operate, mostly cost efficient to operate at up to $.63 per serving for premium cartridges and the most user friendly of all my machines. Even the Keurig can not compete with the speed and ease of use (hard to believe).

Where I think this machine might really shine is in a small private office. A big coffee machine is impractical but an daily dose of espresso is wanted? awesome choice due to small footprint of machine and ease of use.

Not to leave out the Keurig, it works marvelous although the coffee can tend to be a tad on the weak side (for the espresso lover). The "Tea" produced by the Keurig has the machine in a league of its own. K-cup tea is good for 2-4 cups and is marvelous.

Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker

Review Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker

  • Backlight indicators, water level detection, auto power-off, used capsule container, convenient power cord storage
  • 12.83-Inch length by 4.33-Inch width by 9-1/4-Inch height
  • 24-Ounce water tank

Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker Customer Review

I've had a Nespresso Pixie for a few weeks and love it. The coffee is great and the machine easy to use. I looked at other models, but the Pixie is faster, making a cup of coffee in 20 seconds rather than the 60 seconds required by older models. It has a convenient handle that also serves to enclose and puncture the capsule and is light enough to easily carry to another room by the handle. Also, the cup support folds up so that a large cup can be put under the spout. It holds almost as much water in its container as the much larger Citiz. About the only downside is the small quantity of coffee dispensed. While not a problem for expresso, The lungo is only 3.75 oz and I like to sip a full 12 oz cup in the morning. I don't think I want the expense of three capsules every day. So some days, I drink Nespresso, other days I make a regular cup of coffee with my old Braun. I purchased an aeroccino with the Pixie and this works quite well producing a nice froth and I have been bery happy with the capuccinos I've made.

Perfect for what I wanted  4.0 out of 5 stars
I wanted an automatic espresso machine, and was prepared to spend up to a $1500, but my problem was that I couldn't find anything in that price range that was reliable and had consistently good reviews. The Saeco Talea came up a few times, and I have a friend who has one, but that (like every other model I looked at) seemed to have only 60% or so positive reviews, or no reviews. I wanted something that would make espresso, required little to no maintenance and would last. I own a conventional espresso maker, and a semi-automatic. The conventional (stove top) works just fine, but I rarely use it because it takes too much time when I'm trying to get out the door in the morning. Virtually every seal in the semi-automatic has worn out, it was messy to clean up, and the milk frother was just a disaster (forget the constant cleaning, water bubbles out of it even when I'm not using it). Read Full Josh's Review >>

 Leak ! 3.0 out of 5 stars
We have had the Nespresso CitiZ for about 10 days now. I had read several reviews here at Amazon that mentioned that their machine was leaking at the base, so I checked mine by simiply looking it over and saw no leak, but then when I decided to move the machine . . . low and behold there was a puddle of water underneath the machine!, just like other reviewers had mentioned. Our machine also leaks a bit before the coffee starts and mostly after the coffee has ended at the upper spout.
This is a serious matter, especially when we paid top dollar for this machine. Will be calling Nespresso tomorrow morning and hope to get this matter taken care of. Will have to go back to the baristas for my Espresso. I understand in some cases Nespresso will mail out a backup unit to use while they work over the leaky model. Have a Manual campers model "Handpresso" coming in the mail, both the Wild and Dome models. It uses no electricity, and never has to be descaled, and is said to make very good coffee. The Dome model uses ESE pods and the Wild model uses your own grounds, and their are no reports of leaks or any problems.. for a lot less cash on the barrel head.
The machine makes very good espresso, but I recommend warming the cup before filling it. The only capsule I didn't care for was the light blue one, but the taste can be covered up by adding some flavoring.
